Celebrity Beauty: 4 Look-Cute Alternatives to Wearing Makeup

When it comes to shopping with a friend, hitting the gym or hanging with the kiddos, some celebs aren't that into wearing a full-face of makeup (feeding that hard-to-believe rumor that "they're just like us"). As for me, after a long week of "putting my face on" for the office, I use the weekends as an opportunity for my skin to take a breather and skip the makeup for big chunks of Saturday and Sunday. But like most gals, I still want to fall in the "cute" category--that's why I'm going to try at least one of these sweet yet still low-key celebrity hair and makeup looks:

Wear clothing in the red or pink family
Even when you don't have an ounce of blush or lipgloss on, wearing a bright pink or red top is universally flattering for skin tones. Notice how in this pic, the color of Jennifer Garner and AnnaLynne McCord's tops bring out the baby pink in their lips? I think there also might be a little something to the light bouncing off your clothes back onto your skin that makes you look a little more fresh and cheery too.

Throw on a pair of spectacles (real or fake!)
As our Smitten blogger, Rosemary, commented in yesterday's "Do You Wear ZERO Makeup To The Office? post," that on days she doesn't feel like putting on makeup for work, she throws on her eyeglasses and instantly feels more polished. Looks like celebs like Lauren Conrad and Amber Riley have taken suit with this idea and are totally cute while at it!

Invest in a few simple but stylish hats
I'm not a hat girl myself, but Jessica Biel looks lovely by using hats and caps as a staple in her no makeup weekend routine. Especially if your a day or two in between washes, a hat tucks away anything you don't want focused on.

Wrap a stylish summer scarf
A lightweight scarf casually tossed around your neck visually helps bring the focus downward and not to the makeup-less situation going on above the neck. An accessory like this always seems as if you tried harder to look pulled together than, of course, the three seconds it took to really do it!

So there you have it--even on no-fuss beauty days, you can still look put-together! How do you think these celebs looks sans makeup? What are some other ways you amp up other areas when you go makeup-less? Do you do something special with your hair? Do you make sure to extra-moisturize? Perhaps you play up your jewelry or other accessories?
