This season’s holiday palette from Dior is an extra special one for us. One of our own merchants, Elizabeth Hayes, worked alongside Dior’s product development team to design the limited-edition palette. The four shimmering colors—midnight blue, gray, taupe, and icy white—and double-ended brush come packaged in an elegant leather case inspired by Dior’s signature quilted handbags. We recently chatted with Elizabeth to ask about her fabulous experience with Dior:
How did your collaboration project with Dior come about?
Over the past several years we have been closely partnered with Dior when it comes to products, and because we were meeting with them in Paris we were able to create this together while working on the overall 2010 Dior assortment for Sephora.
What inspired the colors and textures?
Because the palette launches in Fall/Winter, we wanted to ensure richness of color that could achieve day and night looks. Texture conveys the signature Cannage pattern that is typically seen on Dior handbags. My personal favorite is the navy, which can be used alone or with the charcoal for a fresh take on a smoky eye.
What was your inspiration for the packaging?
Dior is a luxury Brand and we wanted to convey the elevated feel of the Cannage pattern that is so iconic to Dior and their fashion heritage. The logo charm adds an element of fashion and makes the palette feel like the perfect beauty accessory.
What was it like working with the Dior product team?
It was a true pleasure! I have a great partnership with both the France and New York-based Dior teams. It was an honor to be able to create this with them for our Sephora clients.
